Dr. Ambedkar Jagriti Welfare Society, in collaboration with Desh Bhagat University, proudly organized the Fifth Manav Jagriti Sammelan to honor the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The event was held under the esteemed presence of DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, who graced the occasion as chief guest alongside several distinguished dignitaries. The Sammelan commenced with a symbolic plant sapling distribution ceremony, promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living. Prominent attendees included Sant Baba Malkeet Nath Ji from Pawan Valmiki Tirath, Amritsar and Hardev Singh.
The program featured powerful addresses by Harwinder Walia, former councilor and SCBC Chairman Punjab, and Reena Valmiki, National President of Ambedkar Maha Sabha India (Haryana), both of whom underscored Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of equality and education. A heartfelt poem recitation by Advocate Nupur Chaitley and Neha Walia paid tribute to Dr. Ambedkar's legacy. State awardee Beant Bhamri and other notable guests like Om Prakash Gabbar and Rakesh Bahadur praised DBU’s contributions to education and social upliftment. Several local dignitaries, panchayat leaders, and educators from nearby villages were also honored during the event. The Sammelan concluded with a special felicitation ceremony for Dr. Zora Singh by the Ambedkar Jagriti Welfare Society, reaffirming a collective commitment to Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of justice, liberty, and fraternity.
