Desh Bhagat University Organises a seminar on "Yudh Nashiyan Virudh"

Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, took a significant step towards combating drug abuse by organizing an awareness seminar under the campaign of Punjab Government "Yudh Nashiyan Virudh". The workshop which is organized by Red Ribbon Club under Department of student welfare with the collaboration of Punjab Government, School of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University aimed at educating and sensitizing the youth about the harmful effects of drug addiction and promoting a drug-free society. On this occasion anti drug rally was oraganised by Nursing department to aware the youth about Drug Addiction. The event witnessed the presence of Gurinder Singh Garry Birring, MLA, Amloh, Chetan Bangar, Sub Division Magistrarte (SDM) Amloh, Gurdeep Singh Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dr Saleena Medical Officer Amloh and other esteemed dignitaries, social activists and other university officials who addressed the students on the rising menace of drug abuse. Experts shared valuable insights on the psychological, social and legal aspects of substance abuse, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation. Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh highlighted their commitment to fostering a healthy and responsible youth by initiating awareness drives, counseling sessions and community outreach programs. Students actively participated in interactive sessions, sharing their thoughts and learning about the devastating impact of drugs on individuals and society. Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, President Dr. Sandeep Singh, Advisor to Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh, Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Dr Arshdeep Singh and Dr. Prabhjot Singh thanked all the guests and organizing committee to arrange such awareness programs for youth for better future. Speaking on the occasion, Gurinder Singh Garry Birring, MLA, Amloh emphasized, “Drug addiction is a serious challenge, and it is our collective responsibility to fight against it. Awareness, education, and strong willpower can help young individuals stay away from this menace.” Seeking the cooperation of the people, he said that the Punjab government is committed to eradicating drugs from the state.
The Desh Bhagat University reaffirmed its dedication to continuing such initiatives in the future, ensuring that students remain informed and empowered to lead a drug-free life.
