The Department of Commerce and Management at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, in collaboration with BSE & Krisha Foundation, successfully organized a two-day Skill Development Certification Program on March 12-13. The program, conducted at Level 1 and Level 2, aimed to equip students with essential industry skills, particularly in the growing mutual funds sector. A total of 120 students actively participated in the training sessions. On Day 1, Level 1 training was conducted, culminating in a test where 61 students successfully cleared the assessment. These students then advanced to Level 2 training on Day 2, gaining deeper insights into the field. This initiative is designed to foster self-reliance among students, aligning with the rapid expansion of the mutual funds industry. Those who successfully clear the Level 2 test will be well-equipped to work as mutual fund advisors, enhancing their career prospects and opening avenues for self-employment. The training sessions were conducted by Gurpreet Kaur, a certified trainer and consultant from Krisha Foundation. Dr. Kanchan, Head of the Department, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Pritpal Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, for his presence and for motivating students on the significance of skill development in today’s competitive job market.
