The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration is organizing a 3-day training program in batches for Anganwadi Workers to strengthen Early Childhood Care Education.

The comprehensive three-day training program is being conducted in 07 batches for 150 Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) from 69 Government-Owned Anganwadi cum Creche buildings, running from 10th February, 2025, to 7th March, 2025, in clusters of 25 Anganwadi Workers. This initiative aims to enhance Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) practices, ensuring better learning outcomes and holistic development for children in the 3-6 year age group.

The training, organized in collaboration with Kachi SadakFoundation, focuses on empowering Anganwadi workers at the Model Anganwadi-cum-Creche, Dadumajra, to replicate transformative, pedagogically innovative learning environments in pre-primary settings. It aligns with the New Education Policy 2020 through highly engaging, playful, and self-learning-focused activities.

Key objectives of the program include:

• Enhancing School Readiness: Equipping AWWs with improved teaching methodologies to strengthen foundational learning.
• Empowering Parents: The 'Chaupaal' program educatesmothers on early childhood education, nutrition, healthcare, and welfare schemes.
• Digital Empowerment: Training on growth monitoring and the use of the Poshan Tracker app for efficient data management.
Expert-led sessions will cover crucial topics such as the significance of ECCE, Growth Monitoring, and the Assessment of Nutrition through the Poshan Tracker application. All Anganwadi Workers will be certified for their training to recognize the hard work of the participants and will also preparepre-school material for their Anganwadi Buildings. This initiative aligns with the broader vision of fostering a supportive environment for children and families.
